VELKOMMEN VINTER

So I spoke too soon about it not being too cold..... Jack Frost definitely came to town this week.... No snow yet, but it sure is getting cold!! I have high hopes that this winter will not be so bad because it is mid-November and no snow yet! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I felt like we had a busy week this week, but I don't have too much to say

Mandag:
Our awesome Mission President and his wife called Sister Allen and I to tell us they are proud of us and to keep up the great work!! Seriously I love them!!! It doesn't get much better than that folks!! It meant so much to us that they took the time to do that!!! The little things mean so much more to me now.

We met with Peter and Paul the two French guys! Man do I literally feel spiritually drained after we meet with them! They suck all of my spiritualness out of me! Peter asks great questions and really loves to talk haha

Tirsdag:
Today was literally the worst day ever...... People were just so rude and mean!! We were out for 2 hours and not one person talked to us and we were stopping everyone that we could! Their responses to us weren't the nicest either.... Sister Allen and I decided to take a break and get boller! (That’s when you know it is bad haha)

Sister Allen: “No one cares about the Book of Mormon gosh dang it!!!”
Seriously people don't say no right away!! Give it a try!!

Onsdag:
Today was just like Tirsdag..... Not as bad that we got boller, but the people weren't that nice today either. It must be the cold weather that hit that made everyone in a bad mood....

The good thing about today though was we got to go to the nursing home!!! There is this one lady who likes to hang around Elder Miller and will scoot up behind him in her wheelchair and say *gunt......* hahaha it was so funny to Sister Allen and I, but not so much to Elder Miller.. He got kinda freaked out haha

Torsdag:
We visited Målfrid and her husband. They were so cute and took us to lunch at their nursing home!! Målfird definitely wears the pants and Ivar just follows her around on his walker while she goes in front in her electric wheelchair. They are so cute!!
We visited Jecon, we got there and he was in the middle of a what looked like call of duty game, so we had to wait till he was done before we could talk to him because he couldn't stop playing.... boys.... When he was done we talked about agency and how we have the agency to choose what we do, but we can't choose our consequences good or bad. Then I told him I was giving a talk at church on Sunday and that he should come! He said probably not..... Then I asked him if we were friends and he said yes and so I said friends support each other and I need your support!! That got him hahah!!!
We visited cute Elin and Kenneth. She made us yummy boller!! She is the best!! I need to get all of her recipes! We had a great discussion on God's plan for us and how it may not be our plan and we also talked about the atonement of Jesus Christ

Fredag:
We visited a member named Wenche Smith. She is our MMK's wife. She is so cute!! She lives out kinda in the country and it was so beautiful!!

Lørdag:
So Sister Allen and I were on the bus and we get on and there is a teddy bear with a sign on it asking to return it to its address. I was like Sister Allen we should do it!! She goes no!!! What if it has drugs in it or like someone is going to kidnap us!? I go but what if it is a family and we can begin to teach them!! I won, so I took the bear and we looked up the address. We were a little confused when we saw that the address was in the center of the city, but we decided to go anyways! We get to the address and oh my gosh.... It is a bunch of college kids with a stand and there where similar bears like ours stacked on a bench. It was like a campaign for kindness! Sister Allen and I were like oh my gosh..... We didn't want to draw attention to ourselves so we snuck over to the bench took the bear out of my backpack and set it down, we were about to turn around and walk away when one of the people saw us and screamed and all of the college kids about 15 of them ran toward us cheering...... They took a picture with us and everything haha. It was pretty fun.
A cute member named Torunn took us out to lunch at this Thai/Asian place!! It was a buffet and way good!! I ate way too much.....
Sister Allen and I went out to contact and we were about to go our usual route when a certain restaurant came into my head. I thought it was just my mind being weird, but one thing I have learned is that whether you think it is your mind or not, DO IT!!! So last minute I said we need to go this way! Believe it or not we met two awesome people at the spot I saw in my head!! We got both of their numbers and one of them was way positive!! ALWAYS LISTEN AND ACT ON PROMPTINGS!!!! Even if you think they are just you, if it invites to do good, do it!

Søndag:
If you are going to meet with someone or hang out, don't be late!!! At least let them know if you are going to be late! Sister Allen and I were waiting in the cold for 30 minutes for an appointment...... It was not fun!

I got asked to give a talk in church!! Luckily lots of people were out of town in Sweden at the temple, but there was still a good amount of people at church. I was asked to talk about Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy (in Norwegian of course). It was so weird because all week as I was preparing and even before I got up to talk, I wasn't nervous one bit!! As I began to talk, I felt so calm and it was so awesome!!! I think I am finally getting the hang of public speaking haha. It was way awesome to learn more about why we make Sundays different from other days of the week. It is so important that we make sure we make Sunday different, because it is the Lord's Day.

JECON CAME TO CHURCH!!!!! HE CAME!! He missed me talk, but he came!!! It was a miracle!!! Everyone was so nice to him and his mom had the biggest smile on her face! He became good friends with the Elders and now wants to come to Family Home Evening too!! Hallelujah!!!

Sister Allen lost her name tag when we went to visit Wenche and just like when I lost mine she was distraught.... we retraced our steps and couldn't find it anywhere!! We called the office to order her a new one and they are having complications with Norway so we won't be getting new tags till hopefully the spring.... lame! At church as I was sitting up on the stand (we have circle pews and it is way cool) I looked out and saw Sister Allen waving a name tag and she was so excited!! Turns out it had fallen off at Wenche's house. Man was it a happy day for Sister Allen!! When we got home she goes *Well I wrote a RIP journal entry for my name tag for nothing!* hahaha she cracks me up!!
Jordan's Tidbits:
-Our Search for Happiness is the greatest book ever!!! Seriously it isn't that long and I would like to invite everyone to read it!! It will change your life!

-#vennlighetenkommer is the hashtag for the street stand!! I'm not sure if we will be on the instagram or not, but it is worth a shot to look!

- It is always so nice when people compliment Sister Allen and I on our Norwegian! On the street someone asked if we were from Denmark!? Hey I'll take sounding Dansk any day over sounding American!

-We have awesome members....
 Pelle and Betty
Ole
Åndelig Tanker:
- Your world is in your head. Get your head right and your heart will follow, and you will be right!

- To believe that weaknesses and deficiencies in your character are unchangeable is to reject the central truth of the plan of salvation. You are NOT cast into stone. You not only can change, but you DO change ALL THE TIME!

- You are responsible for who you are and who you will become. If you don't like something about yourself, change it! If you want to become better at something, work at it! If you want to strengthen a quality about yourself, do it!! Nothing is impossible!
glad i dere!!! keep warm!!!
ps... Christmas is in 6 weeks!!!!!

14 months!!!

This week was so awesome!! Seriously so many miracles and probably the busiest week I have had my whole mission!! We had appointments like every day and always had something to do!! It was so awesome!

Tirsdag: 14 MONTHSS
I hit my 14 month mark today. Looking back one year ago, I was a greenie and never thought this day would come.... and now that my time keeps getting closer and closer to going home, I'm not sure how much I like it.... I wish time could slow down!
We visited Krystle, my Texas pal!!! I love her! She is so cute and makes me feel like I am at home when we go to her house. Her little boys are the cutest too! She gave us butterscotch chocolate chip cookies and I wanted to cry! I felt like I was at home in America

Sister Jørgensen is the best member missionary I know and the cutest gammel damme! She invited one of her friend’s two daughters to come take a tour of the church and talk to us to get more information about the church and what we believe. The girls were so cute, they are 24 and 26 and they have the potential to becoming interested in having us teach them! So that is way exciting! Their mom really wants them to go to church and has asked Sister Jørgensen to help be their åndelig bestamor (spiritual Grandma) which is way awesome, especially since the mom isn't even a member!

Onsdag:
A member Ole did språk study with us and that was a big help! It is always nice when a Norwegian studies with us and we have someone to ask our questions to and to help correct us!

We visited Elin and Kenneth this week and they made this way yummy Chinese stir-fry.... made me miss Panda Express and Pei Wei haha. Elin is so cute and Kenneth even stayed in the room to listen to our spiritual message so that was way awesome!! We talked about faith and read Alma chapter 32 with them. One of my favs!

We met with a former who we called when we were going through the area book named Peter. He asked if he could bring a friend with him so that was another one of the many miracles this week! They are both from France and had some very good questions. We are meeting with Peter again today!
Meet with Mido and had a member Stian Årsnes on the teach with us. Stian and Mido talked a lot at the Halloween party so we thought it would be a good idea to bring Stian so that Mido can start having friends at church besides the missionaries. IT WENT AWESOME!! Stian was so great and dang having a member on the teach makes the biggest difference!! *****People go on teaches with the missionaries!!!!****
(Stian is great at understanding Mido too; sometimes I swear he is speaking Spanish when he is talking!)

Torsdag:
We had institute and the lesson was amazing!! It was all about Christ and his atonement for us and man the spirit was so strong!! We read many scriptures throughout the Bible and Book of Mormon. I am so grateful for his sacrifice that he made for me personally.

We visited Bestamor and Bestafar! Bestafar gave the nicest and best prayer I have ever heard before we left. It was such a cool experience! Bestamor was cute as always! She loves to talk and talk and sometimes I feel bad saying we have to go because I know she doesn't get many visitors and doesn't get to talk to people a lot.

Fredag:
Went to the nursing home! Sister Allen and I were kinda bummed because none of them wanted to go on a walk and we really wanted to go on a walk and push them in their wheelchairs! Instead we talked a lot and just walked around saying hi to all of the people. Elder Rasband played the piano for them and that was way cool!! So Elder Rasband and Elder Miller are the two greenies in my district right now and they were on greenie splits because both of their companions are the zone leaders and they were out of town for a couple days visiting other areas. So Sister Allen and I went downstairs at the nursing home and the Elders went upstairs. We went up to check on them and Elder Miller walked over to us and goes *I have no idea what they are saying to me and Elder Rasband got lucky and is playing the piano the whole time so he doesn't have to talk to them because he doesn't know what they are saying either!!* Then Elder Miller told us *This one lady kept trying to talk to me, so I acted like I was asleep so she would stop talking to me, I had no idea what she was saying!* hahahaha Sister Allen and I died laughing! Elder Miller is a hoot!
We visited Målfrid a member who is in a nursing home as well and every time we visit, she gives us ice cream...... She is very cute and very with it for how old she is! Her husband will usually just sit in the room and listen while we talk. He tried to take out his hearing aids and she got mad at him haha and she was telling us a story and he told her to stop talking! Hahaha. Sister Allen had to try really hard not to laugh.

MIRACLE!! Okay so remember how Sister Allen stopped that big group of men? Well we got an appointment with one of them!! We took Betty who is a recent convert herself with us and it went so good! He had a lot of questions and is way interested. He doesn't have a church he is going to at the moment, so he is trying to find one. He is from Ghana and said he remembers seeing the missionaries around. He said *How can you not see them! They are dressed in suits!*

While we were talking he said he had researched about our religion before we came, so he could have some knowledge. The questions he asked us that he saw on the internet were ridiculous!!! He read anti (which is untrue things about us on the internet). I am very glad we could clear that up for him!! He told us he thought we worshipped Joseph Smith too.... glad we could clear that up for him as well! NO we do not worship Joseph Smith. Anyways, the teach went awesome!!

While we were walking back to the bus Sister Allen looks at me and goes *I don't know how you answered some of his questions!!!* She said, *I had no idea what to say and you always had an answer and what you said was so good!!* I looked at her and I go *I don't even remember what I said..... and I don't even know how I knew those answers!* She goes *You literally were speaking by the power and gift of the Holy Ghost. I could feel it as you were talking!* At that moment I realized how true that was!! The Holy Ghost was literally filling my mouth with what to say and I wasn't even thinking about what I was saying, I was just saying it!

I remember always wishing that something like this could happen to me and I wouldn't have even realized that this had happened if Sister Allen hadn't said anything to me. It then made me think of how many times this has happened before and I hadn't even realized it! I guess I was expecting some big thing to help me realize that I was being guided by the spirit, but it was just an awesome reminder that the spirit works in quiet ways and how easy it is to have those special experiences overlooked!

Being a missionary and being able to have the Lord work through me is one of the best and awesome things in the world! I am so thankful I have the opportunity to be an instrument in the Lord's hands(:

D&C section 121 verse 11: Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall your tongue be loosed. Then, if you desire, you shall have my spirit and my word, yea the power of God unto the convincing of men.
Lørdag:
So we finally met with Nina again and she is a gem!! I really feel like she could get baptized here pretty soon! She is way busy and works three jobs and lives about 2 hours away, so we skype to meet with her, but she is reading throughout the week and makes time to meet with us! She was the one that referred herself to the church! How awesome is that! I really hope we can meet with her more.

We went to Hell and visited Lars and Evalina and their adorable baby boy Jackson. Seriously I cannot wait to hold babies when I get home!

We had stake conference this weekend and it was the best thing ever to hear the leaders speaking in bokmål!!! It is music to my ears and I understood basically everything they were saying!! So this one lady got up and you could tell she was a little nervous.... She started speaking and her Norwegian was way good, but you could tell she wasn't a Norwegian (she was American). She was the cutest thing and would like say side comments in English and at the end everyone cracked up laughing because she said *.... og Jeg er veldig takknemlig at denne talen er ferdig, I Jesu Kristi navn, Amen* and she sat down! It was so funny! What she said in English was -  I am very grateful that my talk is over in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Søndag:
Stake conference..... the talks were very good!! It really makes me happy that I can understand basically all that they were saying! Everyone needs to speak bokmål.....

Met with Rafid and had Ole on the teach! I was so grateful Ole was there! Rafid asked some really interesting questions and Ole was able to answer them perfectly which made me really grateful because I'm not sure what I would have said!

Met with Jecon and his girlfriend was over!! So we got to share a message with both of them. That was way cool and unexpected. We talked about the Godhead and how God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three different human beings, but one in unity and purpose. God and Christ have a body of flesh and bone and the Holy Ghost is a spirit so that he can always be with us.

TODAY WAS NORWEGIAN FATHERS DAY!! HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!!
                                                           YOU ARE THE BEST!!
** our mmk and bishop are way awesome!! They are involved and care about us and how we are doing and how the missionary work is going!! I am really grateful for that!

** Norsk was awesome this week! Somedays you just feel like you really got the hang of Norwegian and this was one of those weeks!! I really felt like my Norwegian was pretty good this week and that the words just flowed out of my mouth! That is a good feeling(: I love this language!!
Jordan's Tidbits:
- we got a lot of member teaches this week, probably the most I have had my whole mission and man do members make a difference!!!!

- Elder Corrigan hates when girls in general wear their hair in a ponytail... The other day Sister Allen and I were both just having a bad hair day so we both had our hair up in a ponytail and it drove Elder Corrigan nuts!! So Sunday at church we both had our hair down and he goes *Sisters!! Your hair looks so nice today!!!*

- The Elders must be crazy... they all keep asking me to cut their hair!! I'm not sure they realize that I really have no idea what I am doing and I just go for it hahaha. However I must be doing a good job if they keep asking me!

-Can I just say, I have found the most comfortable slippers!!
Åndelig Tanker:
- If you haven't seen the movie 17 Miracles I would highly recommend seeing it!!! Especially those of you who are going on Trek in March!! It will change your life!!!

- Luke 12:40 *Be ye therefore ready also: for the son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not!* It is so important that we are always prepared! Do not procrastinate doing the right thing, or changing your life, or repenting, etc... Putting things off only makes them worse!!!

- Luke 15:7 *... (the) joy (that) shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, (will be) more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.* Heavenly Father loves us all the same, even though his joy is greater for those that repent, those who are doing the right things will continue to receive blessings and happiness

***NOT EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET IS TRUE!!! If you have questions, ask a person who belongs to the church, ask a missionary or go to these websites!!!
www.mormon.org

This is to all the members of the church, young, teenagers, old, everyone!!!! THE MISSIONARIES NEED YOUR HELP!!!! We cannot do this alone!!! PLEASE HELP THEM!!! Also if you see someone at church and you don't recognize them, go and say hi!!! Talk to them!! You can make all the difference for that person and their experience at church. Don't assume someone else will do it
ha en fin uke dere!!!

KNASK ELLER KNEP (trick or treat)

Mandag:
We had a last event with our district before transfers on Wednesday, so we went to Egon Tower!! It is a restaurant that overlooks the city and it slowly spins!! It was way cool!

They do a pizza buffet so we had that, it was way yummy! The Elders had a competition which companionship could eat the most and it was disgusting..... Elder Mitchell was stacking three pizzas on top of each other and eating them one at time.....
Elder Arnold and Rasband won and Elder Rasband kept eating and eating even after the other Elders couldn't eat anymore! I don't know how he did it!

There is a man named Enoch in the ward who makes the missionaries dinner every other week and brings it to the church!! It is always so good! He is so nice!!!

Tirsdag:
There is an awesome member named Inger Jorgensen and she is so cute!! She reminds me a lot of my grandma's at home. She invited us over and fed us this yummy fisk kake thing with melted butter and carrot peelings on it. She is so awesome about sharing the gospel with her friends and she loves when students come to the church for a project and always talks with them and tries to get the missionaries involved

Met with two girls that were formers and they were so cute! Sime and Odette. They were way nice and loved talking with us.

Onsdag:
TRANSFERS!!
It is so weird to not be in a trio anymore!! I was in a trio for 12 weeks and now am back to being just two. I am so happy and excited to stay with Sister Allen! She is so sweet and an awesome missionary! She is so bold on the street and will talk to anyone and starts testifying about what she knows to be true right away!

Kontakting today was not so good... The people were so rude today!

Met with a former named Chongo. He was way nice and we are hopefully going to be meeting with him again this week!

Torsdag:
Not gonna lie after yesterday's kontakting session, I had no desire to go outside and kontact today. I was really praying hard that Heavenly Father would help us today... and you know what!! HEAVENLY FATHER LOVES ME!!! He answered my prayer and we had an AWESOME DAY TODAY!!!! The people were nicer and it wasn't raining!

We ate at a member's house, Sam and Silje. They are so cute!! They have a little two year old boy and he is so precious and hilarious!!

We visited bestamor and bestafar today. (My mom asked if they are married.  Yes, they are but they live in separate areas of the nursing home.)  Bestafar was sleeping, but Bestamor was awake! She is cute as always and loves showing us her knitting that she is working on

Fredag:
Met with a former Rafid today. He was way cool!! Søster Allen and I have way positive feelings about him!! He asked awesome questions and we have an appointment to meet with him on Sunday!

Today was another successful day på gaten!!

Visited Jecon, he is way rad and fed us a chicken leg haha. We talked about the 2,000 stripling warriors and how they were able to be successful due to their strong faith in the Lord and how they *did not doubt because their mother's knew it* The 2,000 stripling warriors had no doubts in the Lord due to their upbringing and their mother's strong faith in the Lord. I love that!! I hope that when I have kids of my own, they can be just like the stripling warriors and have such strong faith because I have such strong faith.

Went to the nursing home again!! Today we just sat and talked with some elderly women with Elder Corrigan and Miller. They were hilarious!! Those older women are a hoot!! One of them was very concerned that we were not married yet and was trying to set us up haha. I am so glad that we get to do this every week! These people make me smile and I am so happy when I am with them(: They really make me feel so grateful for the gospel and for my family at home.

Lørdag:
HALLOWEEN, so Halloween isn't really a big thing in Norway, but I am kinda glad because I love Halloween and I feel like it would make me homesick if it was a big deal here.

Met with lahtoo, a women who is from Burma. She isn't really interested in being baptized, but she loves meeting with us and talking and reading from the scriptures. She doesn't speak English and a little of Norwegian, but she is so happy and I love being around her! She always tells us how grateful she is that we talk with her and it just warms my heart.

Majken invited us over for chili and corn bread(: I love her!!! Her daughter Olivia was dressed up as a little fairy and was so cute!!! (Majken is half American so she knows about Halloween) We even had some kids come trick or treating at her door! It was way fun!
The Rappleyes had a YSA Halloween party and we invited our investigator Mido to come!! He did and it was way fun!! He became more kjent with the YSA which is a good thing so he can have friends!

 Pelle and Betty
 Jolina and her husband
Søndag:
FAST SUNDAY!! I bore my testimony like always and my nerves get better each time!

Church started with sacrament meeting first instead of Sunday school, so that was weird... I haven't had sacrament first since I was in America

November.... I cannot believe it is NOVEMBER already!! What the heck!?!?

Sister Allen and I decided we would make Sunday’s salmon day. She has an awesome recipe for salmon and it is way good!

Mido came to church again! AND he stayed for all three hours!! He said he really enjoyed it and is excited for next week!

I LOVE THIS WARD!! I feel like I am getting to know them a lot better and it is so fun and awesome to be serving here!

TODAY WAS A MIRACLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!! So our mission president made a new key indicator for our mission and that is tracking the amount of gospel conversations we have in a week. Sister Allen and I hadn't had a lot of them, so we were determined to go out and rack them in. We prayed and were both feeling pretty good!! Ladies and gentlemen, God is too good!! We were stopping everyone we could and because it was a Sunday, there weren’t too many people! We had some awesome conversations!!! We had 3 lessons on the street!! That is very rare!! We were out for 2 hours and it felt like we had only been out for 30 minutes. It was so fun and the conversations we had besides the lessons were way good!!

**we got some numbers and will hopefully be meeting with these people this week!

** Sister Allen saw a group of men who looked like they were from Africa and I personally love stopping the Africans because they are so sweet and nice and usually have a belief so they will talk to us! I was so proud of her because she stopped a group of 4 men!! And that is a scary thing to do believe me! We got their numbers and had a hyggelig prat with them!!

** We met three men within 15 minutes who were named Martin... haha that was weird

***Sister Allen and I really want to focus on less actives and the active members as well as formers in the area book and so far it has been working great!!****

Jordan's Tidbits:
- So the Rappleyes are angels and got us a blender!! It was like Christmas!!! Oh happy day!!! We have a blender finally!!!

- mørketid is the worst..... It is getting dark around 4!!! I feel like it is time to go home and plan and go to bed and then I look at my watch and realize we still have a long ways to go.....

- I may or may not have had too much smågodt... I never want to eat that again!! Søster Allen and I are going to be doing healthy eating only... so I am way excited for that!

- Whenever we have pasta or red sauces at district lunch the Elders always wear aprons. I thought that was a genius idea! Except we don't have any more so I used a bib.... haha it worked just fine though!
- I have often wondered why I was called to Norway... For a while I wanted to go to Africa or places like that, but Sister Allen and I realized that we get the best of both worlds being in Norway. We teach so many people from all over the world! It is the coolest thing ever!

- You could say I am a pro at cutting hair now!! I will be accepting appointments when I get home(; but only boys.... I'm not confident in my skills to cut girls hair

- Birgit our less active we like to visit we always call her Maybrit!! I have no idea why.... that is always awkward

Scripture of the week:
Luke 1:37
*For with God nothing shall be impossible!*

I chose this scripture because it is a new transfer and a new start! I thought this scripture would be a perfect mindset to have going into these next 6 weeks. Since being on my mission, I have seen this scripture become a reality in my life. I know without a doubt that with God nothing is impossible!

Åndelig Tanker:
- You can only learn what you are ready to learn

- You will never get a 10 million answer for a 5 cent prayer! Do everything you can to show God you want an answer

- If you are centered in Christ, you will know what decisions to make

- Heavenly Father will not make decisions for you, but He will and can help you after if it is wrong. Heavenly Father will not let you get far, if you have made a wrong choice

Jeg er SÅ takknemlig for alle dere !! Tusen HJERTELIG takk for alt dere har gjort for meg !! GLAD I DERE !! Ha en Fantastisk uke !!!
xoxo

AMERICAN SYRUP!

Mandag:
So we volunteered to go to a nursing home once a week and take the people out on walks and hang out with them!! It was so fun!! Sister Allen and I got to take this cute old lady named Inger out on a walk in her wheel chair. Okay wheelchairs need seat belts!! I was so scared she was going to fall down when we were going down this hill!
I got spontaneous and dyed my hair...... My wonderful companions did an awesome job!! I am no longer a blonde......

So we were in charge of FHE and it was so awesome!! We did this Holy Ghost activity and blindfolded the people one by one and lead them through an obstacle course downstairs and they had to choose which voice to follow the Holy Ghost or Satan and then at the end they ended up in the Celestial Kingdom. It was way cool!! I was they Holy Ghost and then other people acted as temptations and would try to convince them to follow their voice, it was a really spiritual activity!

Tirsdag:
We had ZLT, (Zone Leadership Traning) so that was fun to have missionaries come down!
I got to see my buddies from Tromsø!

A member who we are good friends with, Pelle made us salmon for dinner!! He is way nice to the missionaries!

Onsdag:
Today we visited Birgit and man is she the funniest old lady I know!!

We got our reflex!!! (from mom… I think this is their reflector) It's that time to bring them back out again!! The darkness is coming too fast!! I am not looking forward to the winter......

Visited Elin and Kenneth again!! She made these way yummy mat muffins!! They are so sweet and nice!!

Torsdag:
Went to visit Lars and Evilena and the Bishop came with us!! The spirit was so strong; it was a way good lesson about forever families! Having the bishop there was awesome!! It made all the difference! The bishop shared a personal story and then I shared a personal story about my two friends Chris and Darin who died before I left on my mission and how I know I will see them again.  I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have that death is not the end. The spirit was so strong and I know my friends were there!

We took the train to go to Hell to visit Lars and Evilena! It was way pretty!
My companions we just "chillin" on the way home!
We visited Bestafar and he was not looking so good..... We are thinking of bringing the Elders with us next time to give him a blessing. He is so sweet though and always asks us to sing to him, so we sing Norwegian hymn songs to him.

Fredag:
We visited Bestamor, she is sometimes asleep in her wheelchair when we go and we always just walk into her room and it kinda scares me when she is asleep because she is old and you know..... She is just the cutest thing and I love her!!

Another member we visit in a nursing home always gives us ice cream when we come over!! Her name is Målfri and she is super nice! Hahaha she yelled at Sister Sorensen though because she was trying to help her find her iPad charger and she kept yelling at Sorensen because she was looking in the wrong place and we couldn't understand her Norwegian.

(Now that I think about it, we visit a lot of older people! They are just the cutest)

Met with Mido! He has been coming to church the past couple of weeks! He is slowly coming along, we aren't too sure on how much he comprehends, but we are working on it!! Sister Allen and I were so proud of him and we asked him to be baptized and then he like started going off about how he couldn't cause he has a fever? We think he just didn't understand us that well hahaha

Lørdag:
There was a drunk guy on the bus who kept harassing people and he scared the living daylights out of Sister Allen! I thought it was pretty funny, but she didn't

So every Saturday we play soccer and while on my mission I have really tried to tone down my competitiveness, but on Saturday I let it come out and what do I get...... hurt and have to sit out and now I have a gimp leg.....and can't walk. I was trying to get the ball from Elder Corrigan and next thing I know my thigh/leg is like numb and I can't walk..... We think I sprained or strained a muscle.... All I know is I can't bend my leg or walk on it so that makes things interesting..... Getting hurt as a missionary is the worst thing ever!!! Thankfully I have awesome companions who help me when I walk and let me use them as a crutch. I probably look really pathetic, but oh well!! We went out contacting and I’m pretty sure people were staring at us....

The Elders like to make fun of me and copy me limping everywhere!

The Rappleyes had all the missionaries over for dinner! It was so nice of them! It was way fun to all hang out and we played some card games and Sister Rappleyes food is to die for!!

Daylight savings as a missionary is probably the best thing in the world!!! We got to have an extra hour of sleep!!

Majken and Aaron invited us over and fed us AMERICAN PANKCAKES WITH AMERICAN SYRUP AND AMERICAN PEANUT BUTTER!!!!!!!!!! I DIED!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to cry!! They are so awesome!!!

Me: Thank you so much Sister Allen and Sorensen for helping me today!!

Sis Allen: We have to help you
(can you feel the love) hahahaha she really loves me I promise!

Søndag:
MOVES CALL!!! I cannot believe it has already been 6 weeks!! No way Jose!!! The calls are in and I am so sad to say that our trio will be split up!! Sorensen is going to Oslo and it is going to be just me and Sister Allen in Trondheim now. I have three transfers left (18 weeks) I cannot believe it!! I feel like I just came on my mission!! My mission has changed my life and I recommend it for everyone..boys and girls!!! Even if you think you aren't the classic “molly Mormon” or type to go on a mission PLEASE consider it!! I never wanted to go on a mission or planned too, but boy am I so grateful that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and knows me better than I know myself. A mission has forever changed my life for the better; I don't know where I would be or who I would be without it!

Ole a member invited us over for dinner which was way nice!!

IT IS DARK BY 5 PM NOW!! This is ridiculous!!!!
Jordan's Tidbits:
-Seriously a mission is the best choice I have ever made!! The friendships you gain here are lifelong!!
- We are watching Hocus Pocus this week!! I couldn't be more excited!!!! Norwegians don't celebrate Halloween.... total bummer!!

- It is always awkward when you have to tell your investigator that he needs to stop flirting with you and your companions.... We were teaching one of our investigators and Sister Sorensen just brings it up and I about died haha. He was very nice about it and apologized so that was good

Scripture of the week:
Alma 37 verse 37
*Counsel with the lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good, yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep, and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God, and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day!

I chose this scripture to help me always make sure I am thinking about the Lord in all that I do and to make sure that I am developing a better relationship with him(:

ha en fin uke dere!!!! glad i dere!!!

Hell and Back

So this week I hit my 1 year mark being in the land!!! Which means I have been in Norway for one year!! That is so crazy!! I cannot believe how much this mission has changed my life and I am so grateful for the amazing opportunity I have to be a missionary!

Mandag:
We ate at a members house, the Dunn family and they are so cute and sweet!! They made this really yummy red pepper soup with knekkebrø and some kind of butter with spices in it! SO GOOD!! They have two kids and they are the cutest!

President and Sister Hill flew into Trondheim to do interviews. Man I love those two!! They are just the best!!

Tirsdag:
For district lunch we did a pot luck and the missionaries could choose what they brought..... man oh man..... it was the most random lunch I have ever had hahaha. There was a macaroni salad, soup, garlic bread, pigs in a blanket, cookies, and brownies hahaha! That is what happens when you have 6 elders choosing what to make.

MIRACLE DAY!!!!!! THE CRAZIEST THING HAPPENED!! We were on the bus on our way to visit a former and we got on the wrong bus and were going to get off at the next stop and while on the bus, a girl asked us in English if we were Mormons! Her name is Marianna. She than talked to us for the next 20 minutes about how she thinks we are so interesting and has read the whole Book of Mormon, loves what we are doing, and hasn't found the right church for her yet! THIS WAS MUSIC TO OUR EARS!! AND she asked if we could explain the plan of salvation to her!! WE WERE DYING!! We stayed on the bus and then just got off at a random stop because there was no way we were getting off the bus without getting her number and an appointment. WE GOT AN APPOINTMENT and are meeting with her this week!! THIS NEVER HAPPENS!!!!! IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!!! We all three got off the bus and were freaking out! We are so so excited!! The Lord does put prepared people in our paths!

Onsdag:
1 year in Norway!!!!

Went to visit Jekon (less active) and his friend Rolland who is investigating and we walk in and one of the sets of ELDERS are there!!! We were like what the heck!? Turns out they were looking at the ward list and chose to come visit Jekon..... so he got two visits from the missionaries that day haha

We went to Bible Study and it was way good! We are studying the Old Testament and man it is intense.... I like the New Testament better haha. It is easier to understand

Torsdag:
Visited Bestamor and Bestafar..... Bestafar wasn't looking too good this week, but Bestamor is cute as ever!!

We had dinner with Aaron and Majken and their cute baby Olivia!! Dang this no baby rule is really killing me..... She made the yummiest enchiladas I have ever had!! I love Aaron and Majken! They are so awesome and always helping the missionaries and they are young and cute and make me so excited to be married and help the missionaries too!

Fredag:
The YSA was doing a movie night and we were allowed to come if we brought investigators or less actives... you better believe we are going to do what it takes to watch a movie!! SO WHAT DO WE DO!?!? We had 2 investigators and a less active come!! Jekon, Rolland, and Mido!! Sister Rappeleye couldn't believe it! Jekon hadn't come to the church since he couldn't remember how long!! IT WAS A MIRACLE!!! We watched Tomorrowland! That was an awesome movie and so relatable to the gospel... yes you now you are a missionary when you relate movies to the gospel haha

The Doctrine and Covenants 138 days challenge started today!! I have 138 days left and you read from chapter 138 and go down to one day by day. I love the Doctrine and Covenants! It is so good!!!
Lørdag:
Sport!! I got brave this week and tried to guard one of the Norwegians, Aaron.... I didn't die, so it went pretty good! I scored a goal this week too!! One of the elders slide tackled/slipped/knocked me over so I got to get a free kick at the goalie and man was that embarrassing. Hahaha! Needless to say I didn't make a goal that time

THE REASON FOR MY HEADING!!! So one of our investigators lives in Hell. So we went to visit and the Rappeleyes took us for some pictures. It is always a joke that everyone says they went to *hell* or went to *hell and back*

We were out contacting and stopped a guy who was American and named Chase!! He was way cool and talked to us for a while. He doesn't believe in God and believes in science, but he was way nice and really likes Mormons and thinks we are great people. By the way…to me, God created science.

Søndag:
We skyped and had an appointment with Nina! She referred herself to the church and has been way busy so this was the first time we have gotten to meet since I have been in Trondheim

Some girls came to church for a school project. It was way fun because we got to take them on a tour of the church and do a one on one questionnaire with them. I love teaching them and having them learn about the church.

We were contacting and walking across the bridge to head home and some college kids were getting in a raft to go in the middle of the pond/lake thing and Sorensen “what are the odds” me to yell and ask them what they were doing... of course I lost so I did it!! Hahaha they even replied back!! It was way funny
At home we were getting ready to plan for the next day and our doorbell rang..... It was a guy asking if we had a wine opener... we live in an apartment complex with college kids and I swear a sorority house is next door because they are partying and screaming all night long on the weekends! Anyways Sister Sorensen replied and said no and that we don't drink. I was so proud of her!

****That one lady (Kalina the Bulgarian) that showed up to the church, we got into contact with her and went to visit her at the hospital!! She has been reading some in the Book of Mormon and was so grateful that we came to visit her!!

Jordan's Tidbits:
- If you aren't having fun, you are doing something wrong!
- The Pepperkaker is in stores now!!! Oh my gosh so I usually don't like gingerbread cookies but dang Norwegian ones are the best!!!!

- Banana bread with frosting is to die for (Sister Rappeleye is the best cook!!

- While contacting Sister Allen ran into a pole.... funniest thing ever!! hahahahah

- Sister Sorensen and Allen love to eat baby food
- Elder Mitchell loves to scare us while emailing and I am pretty sure I am going to lose my voice from screaming so loud and so much

- Sister Sorensen loves when we are on the street to tell people when we ask to pray with them after we are done talking to tell them that I am way good at praying and so I always pray. It is way fun and I love doing it. I always know it is coming haha she just smiles and looks at me and asks me to pray and she knows I won't say no, so I think that is why she does it haha!

-Sister Missionaries working so hard, our shoes are worn!

Scripture of week:
Doctrine and Covenants Chapter 4 verse 2 and 5! *O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind, and strength.... and faith, hope, charity, and love, with an eye single to the glory of God qualify him for the work. Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, and diligence!*

I chose this scripture for this week to help myself focus on my work here in Norway and making sure that I am developing the Christlike attributes that are important. I have almost 4 months left and I want to make sure I go home on a stretcher knowing I worked my best right up to the end!

I LOVE THIS QUOTE ABOUT CHRIST:
It is important to remember that Jesus was capable of sinning, that he could have succumbed, that the plan of life and salvation could have been foiled, but that he remained true. Had there been no possibility of his yielding to the enticement of Satan, there would have been no real test, no genuine victory in the result... He was perfect and sinless, not because he had to be, but rather because he clearly and determinedly wanted to be

****Jesus chose to be perfect!! He had temptation and he chose to choose the high road. I LOVE THIS!! It goes to show that we all can choose to be perfect and be better

CHALLENGE:
Read the 4 gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John by Christmas!! It is an awesome way to prepare for the Christmas season and to focus on what is most important.... CHRIST!

GLAD I DERE!!! ha en fin uke!!!!
